The Program calls for a 3 bedroom home with pool house and outdoor spaces for entertainment and gathering while minimizing grading and site impact. The overall design approach is driven by the site’s topography and its prominent western views. The program is split into two primary volumes which are offset to one another based on the careful study of the site’s topography. Linked by a single spine, spaces are arranged linearly along a north–south axis to maximize views while a generous overhang along its west face provides protection from the sun and allows interior spaces to extend outdoors through a series of articulated terraces and decks.

The build utilizes smart home technology, health and well-being as forefront to the environment, with added remote management for ultimate comfort and ecological efficiency.  Repurposed site stone is used to ground the main volumes and to establish a clear datum between levels. Additionally, the simple geometry and expressed structure reinforces the home’s humility, honesty, and craftsmanship. Native vegetation will be protected and carefully curated to enhance the site’s natural habitat.
